Wait! Hold the closing credits! There’s one more award to hand out to a Golden Globe Awards attendee and it’s a Sally Award, our very own fashion prize that recognizes an outstanding party look. And the winner is…Westworld actress Evan Rachel Wood, who rocked the red carpet last night in a custom-made and perfectly tailored Altuzarra tuxedo, these black velvet stilettos, a chic art deco Judith Leiber clutch, and understated Neil Lane jewelry. But that’s not the only reason she won…
Let’s face it. It’s not just what you wear to a party that counts, it’s what you contribute as a guest while you’re in it. In Wood’s case, it was her red carpet communiqué that sealed the deal. Said Wood about her ensemble, “I’m not trying to protest dresses, but I wanted to make sure that young girls and women know that they aren’t a requirement. You don’t have to wear one if you don’t want to. Just be yourself.” Bravo.
Kudos also go to Samantha McMillen, who styled Wood’s winning look; Peter Butler, who created a sexy femasculine coif using the LeonorGreyl line; and Toby Fleischman, who gave her a classic maquillage using Burt’s Bees products (truly!).
