Event planner extraordinaire Bronson van Wyck recently hosted the launch of Manhattan, the latest crystal collection from Saint-Louis, the venerable French crystal maker.

Inspired by the speakeasy cocktail culture of 1930s New York and based on a Saint-Louis design from the same decade, the Manhattan collection includes everything from coupe and highball glasses to a decanter, cocktail shaker, and ice bucket—everything a modern-day salonniere might need for a glamorous cocktail party.

The “pong table” in Bronson’s New York apartment

And that’s exactly what Bronson hosted. The party was a beautiful reflection on the theme, with guests sipping classic cocktails, trying their hand at mixing drinks from behind the secret bar in Bronson’s kitchen, and indulging in a game of “crystal pong,” a glamorous twist on traditional beer pong with players trying to sink a Saint-Louis-branded ping-pong ball into one of its signature crystal glasses.

The cocktails and floral arrangements were classic and elegant

The attention to detail in the Manhattan collection is striking, thoughtful, and a great conversation starter at a party. The sleek bevel cut is meant to denote the New York City skyline, and the design—while based on a collection from the past—features a modern twist: Experimental Cocktail Group was brought in to advise on the technical specifications of each piece to ensure the perfect grip, weight, and balance.
