Susan Gage began her catering career creating parties for friends from her home in suburban Washington. A self-taught chef, Susan, together with several friends, initially catered in her local community, using her home kitchen as a base. She started Susan Gage Caterers in 1986 and, through her hard work and belief in using only the highest-quality ingredients, built a reputation for unsurpassed excellence.

In 2001, Susan’s son Chappall joined the company. A former military officer with an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland, Chap has helped Susan oversee the company’s careful and measured growth. Today, with no advertising other than the reports of their many satisfied clients, Susan Gage Caterers is a seven-days-a-week enterprise with more than 2,500 parties yearly and $14 million in annual sales. The company was recently ranked the top caterer in Washington, D.C. by The Washington Post.

Susan Gage Caterers operates out of a 32,000-square-foot facility, which includes a full commercial kitchen, sales offices, warehouse, fleet of vehicles, and more than 125 full-time employees.
