One of our favorite go-to caterers in the Boston area is Renee Scharoff, the chef and owner of Blonde on the Run. Professionally trained at the Connecticut Culinary Institute, Renee has spent years developing her craft in kitchens around the world. Her experience includes preparing lavish and delicious meals for international aristocrats, members of royalty, and captains of industry.
Today, Renee runs her full-service catering and event business from Boston. Serving discerning clients in Massachusetts and Connecticut, where she grew up on a farm, Renee’s menus are always delicious, emphasizing fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients.
One of the many other reasons we love Renee’s work is that she has a great eye—everything that comes out of her kitchen looks stunning. Perhaps it’s because she studied at New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology and briefly pursued a career in design. Or perhaps it’s because her mother ran a modeling agency and she grew up surrounded by beauty and fashion. Regardless, the food-fashion connection is evident in everything she does. As Renee says, “Both fashion and food are about color, texture, presentation, and understanding the way different elements work together.”
We also love Renee’s effervescent personality, which is another key ingredient of her success. Party planning can be stressful—even for the most experienced party host or hostess, Renee’s sunny disposition eases the stress and infuses the process with joy.
Blonde on the Run offers catering for parties large and small, as well as in-home chef services for private clients. For more information about Blonde on the Run, visit their website here.
